About us
IMPACT FOUNDATION coordinated actions undertaken by the organisations chosen in a tender organised by the Warsaw Culture Office as part of the Transformations Art Festival by the Vistula River.
The informational campaign of the festival was a social campaign with some elements of a marketing campaign. Both festival events and the idea of developing the riverbank were heavily marketed. The campaign made use of: standard advertising means (updated and distributed every month: posters, billboards, programme brochures, two web pages and constant cooperation with the media), as well as artistic forms of promotion (performances, workshops, Vistula visualisations, social actions). The combination of marketing and social actions was aimed at exerting multifaceted influence on Warsaw inhabitants so that in the future more organisations and people feel responsible for the development of this enormous space available in Warsaw. Impact initiated cooperation with a few dozen institutions and organisations, it also financed and helped implement four important projects of the Transformations.
In cooperation with the British Council and as part of the Creative Cities project, Impact implemented the Future City Game undertaking also organised in other European cities. During a two-day workshop entitled „Vision – Vistula! a River that unites Warsaw” representatives of various circles: artists, employees at local city institutions and non-governmental organisations, tried to find a solution to the problem of Vistula public access. As a result, four ideas for Vistula riverbank development were presented: floating pavilions, Vistula information centres, beach revival and Kubik Wi£lany based on the „Artist in Residence” project. More information at: www.britishcouncil.org.
Another undertaking consisted in inviting Citydoping to participate in the Transformations. Street-art performers cooperating with Citydoping decorated dull city walls to change the image of Warsaw with the use of wall paintings and graffiti. Some of them were also created on the Warsaw bridges. The action undertaken as part of Street Art Doping was concluded by a huge hip-hop and street art culture celebration, thus the public was able to participate in graffiti jams, concerts, street art fashion sales and many other attractions under the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge. www.citydoping.com
Vistula River revival was not limited to the riverbank, however. Already in August an internet game was initiated by InfoPraga û Vistula on-line. It served as a tool to arouse interest in the Vistula River and its Warsaw riverbank. Together with the internet game, a live game was also initiated at the riverbank. A few dozen people participated in the event. www.infopraga.com.pl
Cleaning the riverbank… to the rhythm of the music. Impact took part in the international Clean Up The World action by organising an Eco-friendly Weekend by the riverbank. Warsaw inhabitants were cleaning up Vistula riverbanks and at the same time listening to a concert by Bauagan Mistrz≤w band, which played on the roof of a floating house! The motto of the concert was: ôBauagan will put things in order! At the same time, artistic workshops and contests with eco-friendly prizes were organised on the transFORM barge.
Other actions organised by Impact include: distribution of programme brochures and leaflets on Warsaw streets painting eco-bags of the Transformations Festival, film visualisations in Warsaw clubs, official closing of the festival and the Vistula Support Meter.
